DMT 5/5
AWP Environmental have recently teamed up with DMT to bring you
a decentralized advanced wastewater treatment system based upon
activated sludge technology. The technology is the most applied
process for wastewater treatment worldwide and therefore is well
known, proven and robust.
The DMT decentralised advanced wastewater treatment systems are
fabricated out of high quality concrete or plastic (HDPE).
The systems are very compact, robust, without moving parts and
contact media. They are almost maintenance
free, with low energy consumption and low production of surplus
sludge.
The DMT-IWT system consists out of 3 tanks and is designed for
a capacity of 6 - 8 P.E.
( 900 – 1.200 Litres/day).
First step: the influent flows into the Pre-settlement
tank, where large solids settle.
Second step: biological degradable solids flow into the
de-nitrification and oxidation tank, where they are degraded.
Third step: remaining pollutants and suspended solids
flow into both post clarifier compartments. In here, the suspended
solids are re-circulated to either the de-nitrification compartment
or the pre-settlement tank.
This improved two-stage clarifier ensures the high quality effluent
of 5 mg/l O2 BOD and 5 mg/l SS. Also due to the de-nitrification
area, floating layers aren’t formed.
The DMT systems are tested and certified at the Van Hall Institute.
The following test results can be stated (effluent values on domestic
wastewater):
| COD |
: <40 mg/l |
| BOD |
: < 2 mg/l |
| SS |
: < 2 mg/l |
| NH4 |
: < 1 mg/l |
| N-total |
: < 5-10 mg/l |
